A tragic incident shocked Autódromo Roberto José Mouras in the western area of La Plata this Saturday. During the ninth round of the first final of Clase 2 in Turismo Internacional, the driver Alejandro Frangioli, 66 years old, died after collapsing while completing the final lap in his Ford Fiesta.
According to initial reports, the driver from Chaco lost control of the vehicle after suffering the medical episode and came to a stop at the side of the track. Medical teams replied immediately and performed CPR, but despite their efforts, they couldn't revive him. The physician in charge of the event confirmed that the death occurred due to natural causes.
Later, the category made the news official through a statement on social media, in which it said: "We regret to inform you of the passing of driver Alejandro Frangioli, 2005, 2006, and 2018 Clase Súper champion, and in this 2025, a major figure in Clase 2. We have no words to express this irreparable moment. We send our condolences to his family and loved ones."

His son-in-law, Guillermo Quiroga, was also present at the racetrack and explained that Frangioli had previously suffered a cardiac arrest, had three coronary stents, and was under medical treatment, information that supports the hypothesis of a pre-existing condition. Meanwhile, Police carried out the corresponding procedures and the case was classified as "investigation of causes of death," with no criminal intervention due to the driver's medical history.
