Neighbors confronted violent illegal immigrants in a Spanish village
A group of undocumented minors began attacking local residents, as well as stealing and causing property damage
The town of Marcilla in Navarre, Spain, with a population of fewer than 3,000 inhabitants, has been the scene of episodes of violence for several days, but it was during a Thursday night when a real confrontation broke out between a group of minors, illegal African immigrants, and the town's residents.
These young people, who had escaped from the immigrant reception center where they were staying, carried out violent acts that included throwing objects such as chairs, bottles, and stones at the residents, as well as committing thefts and causing property damage.
According to El Diario de Navarra, and based on the account of several residents, the events began when a bar refused to sell cigarettes to one of the minors. From that moment, insults, threats, and attacks against the residents in the vicinity began, followed by a rain of objects, creating a strong climate of insecurity that especially affected women and children.

Faced with what they describe as a scarce or nonexistent response from the security forces, several citizens decided to organize neighborhood patrols and mobilize in front of the illegal immigrant center to demand its closure. Although the police did not act during the disturbances, they did intervene afterward to guard the shelter's facilities and protect the illegals.
In this context, some left-wing media accused the residents of acting for "racist" reasons, while right-wing volunteer groups from other regions went to Marcilla with the intention of providing support and reinforcing security in the town.
This is not the first time
These scenes are not new in Marcilla. For years, the Navarrese town has been facing conflicts arising from the operation of the reception center for illegal immigrants.

On more than one occasion, attacks and disturbances caused by the illegals have been recorded, such as a 2022 riot that left several injured, as well as other incidents. Only in May, according to the local media Tudela Hoy, the Foral Police intervened on at least twelve occasions due to problems related to the security of the place.
Even the mayor of the municipality, the socialist Esther Villanueva (PSOE), stated in an interview with Navarra Televisión that for months they have been warning about the situation, calling for its closure.
Meanwhile, Vox, which has long been pushing for the closure of this type of establishment, harshly criticized the local government of María Chivite, accusing it of abandoning the people of Navarre to their fate, forcing them to organize neighborhood patrols and defend themselves by their own means in the face of violence from the illegal immigrant minors.
