British NGO Amnesty International is calling on the judiciary to authorize the release of the clandestine recordings
The British non-governmental organization (NGO) Amnesty International requested that the Argentine Justice system allow the dissemination of illegal audios obtained clandestinely in the Casa Rosada, belonging to the General Secretariat of the Presidency, Karina Milei. The request comes amid a formal complaint filed by the Government of Javier Milei, which warns of an intelligence operation aimed at disinformation and destabilizing the electoral process.
A judge had previously prohibited the dissemination of these audios, citing their illegal nature. For the national administration, this precedent could represent a direct attack on freedom of expression and the public's right to information, which are essential pillars of a state governed by the rule of law. The Casa Rosada described the maneuver as a "planned attack" with alleged foreign influence, whose objective would be to influence the upcoming legislative elections.

According to the official statement, the operation included the illegal capture of private recordings of Karina Milei and other high-ranking officials, followed by manipulation or staggered dissemination. "This is not a casual leak, but a planned attack. It directly targets the core of Argentine democracy: the electoral process," stated the presidential spokesperson on X.
The Government warned that the seriousness of the incident is heightened by the possibility that the recordings were made inside the Casa Rosada itself, thus constituting an unprecedented threat to institutional security and the presidential office. Among the identified individuals responsible are journalist Mauro Federico, Pablo Toviggino—executive secretary of AFA and recent media entrepreneur—, host Jorge Rial, and attorney Franco Bindi, a judicial operator linked to Fernando Pocino.

The National Intelligence Lawexplicitly prohibits any type of political espionage or manipulation of public opinion through clandestine practices. For this reason, the complaint requested urgent precautionary measures to prevent the dissemination of new leaks and ensure the transparency of the electoral process, emphasizing that Amnesty International's involvement in the case raises questions about the impartiality of international actors regarding Argentine sovereignty.
