Nintendo officially announced the release date for the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2. The title will arrive on November 5 and becomes one of the few major releases of the month, coinciding with the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI.
The confirmation was made during a special stream for the 40th anniversary of the franchise. The company had shown a first teaser in June, but this time offered a much clearer look at how the new version looks and plays.
The long-time producer Eiji Aonuma defined the project as “a faithful interpretation that uses modern technologies.” This is the first Zelda game exclusive to Switch 2 and the return in 3D of one of the most influential adventures in the series.
The images shown reveal a significant leap in visual detail compared to the original Nintendo 64 version. The Great Deku Tree looks more imposing, and Link himself appears with a more elaborately designed hat.

New mechanics and gameplay changes
Among the most notable new features is the free camera, which allows for greater freedom of movement. A function called “threads of time” has also been added, designed to indicate more clearly where and when the next objective is located.
Another practical modification is the ability to hum melodies instead of only playing them with the controller buttons. Additionally, Link can now jump with just the press of a button, a change that modernizes movement.
