Nvidia announced the definitive retirement of its historic GeForce Control Panel, a tool that accompanied gamers for two decades. The company confirmed that all the main features have already been transferred to its new Nvidia App, which now positions itself as the control center for users.
According to the company, with the latest update of Nvidia App, the modernization of the most used features of the old panel has been completed. This marks the end of an era for the classic Control Panel that so many configured on their Windows PCs.
The transition has been in the works for over two years, when Nvidia began developing the new app as a definitive replacement. Today, with the official announcement, the Control Panel will no longer receive support for Game Ready and Studio drivers.
For users of RTX PRO cards, support for the Control Panel will continue until specific professional functions are migrated. Meanwhile, the old application will remain installed on computers unless a clean driver installation is performed.

What happens to the old Control Panel
Although it will no longer be updated, the classic Control Panel will still be available in the Microsoft Store. However, it will not receive new features or bug fixes. Nvidia recommends that users migrate to the new application as soon as possible to enjoy all the updated options.
The Nvidia App has established itself as a comprehensive solution: it allows users to download and install drivers, manage game settings, and activate different DLSS modes in a more modern and intuitive way. This unification simplifies the daily experience for gamers and content creators.

Experts highlight that the Nvidia App offers a smoother experience, with faster updates and better integration with the company's ecosystem. For many, this retirement was expected following the progressive advancements in the migration of functions over the past year.
