An Obama-nominated judge released a woman who had threatened to kill Trump

The magistrate, known for his Democratic activism, made the decision to release a Democratic activist who had threatened Trump's life last week

Federal court magistrate James Boasberg, a judge appointed by former President Barack Obama known for his judicial activism against Trump’s policies, ordered the release last week of a woman accused of repeatedly threatening the life of the current president.

Nathalie Rose Jones, a resident of Lafayette, Indiana, was arrested in Washington, D.C. on August 16, charged with threatening to take the president’s life, kidnap, or cause physical harm, in addition to transmitting threats across state lines.

The arrest was announced by the current U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, in a statement. "The threat against the president’s life is one of the most serious crimes, and it will be met with swift and unwavering prosecution. Let there be no doubt: justice will be served," the official said.

The threats were directed at Trump and Hegseth.

According to the Department of Justice, Secret Service agents observed a series of increasingly concerning posts on Instagram and Facebook between August 2 and 15 by a user named "nath.jones," who shared messages from Democratic media outlets labeling Trump as a terrorist and referring to his administration as a dictatorship.

On August 6, the opposition activist wrote a message to the FBI on her social media under the following inscription: "I am willing to kill this president by gutting him and cutting his trachea along with Liz Cheney and all present Affirmation."

This message was followed by another death threat dated August 14, this time directed at the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. "Please organize the arrest and removal ceremony of President Trump as a terrorist of the American people between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the White House, Saturday, August 16, 2025."

Violence is growing among Democratic ranks.

When Secret Service agents visited Jones’s home to interview her, the Democratic terrorist reiterated her intention to kill the president if given the opportunity, stating that this "mission" would be carried out with a "sharp object to avenge all the lives lost during the COVID-19 pandemic."

Despite appearing unhinged during the interview with authorities, Jones was not arrested until after a second interrogation had just concluded. In the meantime, the now-indicted individual participated in an opposition protest where she declared, "we will not exist under this authoritarian regime" and "we will not accept fascism."

Although Jones’s case may seem like an isolated incident, surveys conducted on the subject show a latent sense of violence within Democratic ranks. In April, a Rutgers University poll revealed that 55% of respondents who identified as left-leaning considered that assassinating President Trump would be "at least somewhat justified."

Another 28% of Democrats replied after the Republican leader suffered an assassination attempt at his golf course in Florida in September of last year that it would have been better if the president had been killed right there.
