The national sport is preparing for another unforgettable gala. This Thursday, the shortlists for the Olimpia Awards 2025 were announced, with the ceremony set to take place next Monday, December 22 at Usina del Arte, a venue that will once again bring together the country's most outstanding athletes.
This edition comes with significant new features. For the first time, the eSports category will be included, reflecting the growth of electronic competitions and the generational shift in audiences. The candidates for this discipline, as well as those for polo, whose season will determine its champion this Saturday, have not yet been confirmed.
In addition, the organization will add a special recognition: the "Inspiration Award." This distinction will be given to one of the shortlisted athletes who doesn't win the Silver Olimpia and will consist of an annual scholarship to support their professional development. The selection of this award will be in the hands of the public, who will be able to vote through the official platforms.
In the last edition, the Olimpia de Oro 2024 was shared by two figures who made their mark on the year: Franco Colapinto, a protagonist of a historic debut in Formula 1 with Williams, and Emiliano "Dibu" Martínez, who won everything with the National Team and is an absolute reference in the Argentine goal.
