Franco Colapinto arrives at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with his sights set on closing out the 2024 season in the best possible way. After a challenging weekend at the Qatar GP, the Argentine driver analyzed what happened and highlighted his expectations for the final event of the year.
"The race weekend in Qatar was not without its lessons. It was clear that the car had pace, but we struggled to show it next weekend," Colapinto acknowledged, emphasizing the difficulty in finding consistency. In that regard, he admitted that his own performance was also a factor: "I made mistakes throughout the weekend, but we showed more potential in the race."

With similar weather conditions expected in Abu Dhabi, the Alpine driver believes his team is in a good position to make a quality leap: "With similar conditions expected in Abu Dhabi next weekend, we're prepared and will look to capitalize on this potential."
The setting for the last race of the year is also a familiar one for him. "Yas Marina Circuit is a track I've visited several times, both in Formula 1 and during my junior driver career. It's a good circuit, with many different challenges and probably more overtaking opportunities," he explained, highlighting that the layout could play in his favor.
Before the official end of the season, Colapinto did not miss the opportunity to acknowledge the collective effort that supported his campaign in the top category. "Looking ahead to the final round, I feel very grateful to the team and all the unbelievable work they've done this season, both on the track and in the factories. Let's finish the year together on a high note before a well-deserved winter break," he said.
