The agency is maintaining a yellow alert for extreme heat. This means there are possible health risks, especially for children, older adults, and people with chronic illnesses. The recommendation is to take maximum precautions and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.

Weather today in the AMBA: Monday with extreme temperatures

According to the SMN weather forecast, this Monday will be the peak of the heat wave. The day starts with partly cloudy skies and remains mostly cloudy for the rest of the day.

Minimum temperatures are around 25 degrees, while the maximum will reach 37 degrees, creating a high heat index in different parts of the AMBA.

Yellow alert: who is most affected by the heat

The yellow alert for extreme temperatures indicates that the heat can be dangerous, especially for vulnerable groups. In these cases, the impact can cause dehydration, heatstroke, and general discomfort.

Extended forecast: when relief will arrive

Thermal relief is expected to begin to be felt on Tuesday. SMN forecasts showers during the early morning and morning hours, with an improvement toward the afternoon.

Temperatures will drop slightly, with a low of 23 degrees and a high close to 34. Although the decrease will not be abrupt, it will mark the end of the most intense stretch of heat.

On Wednesday, mostly cloudy skies are expected, with temperatures between 23 and 31 degrees. Thursday will maintain similar conditions, with a low of 21 and a high of 32.

Friday will close the week with good weather, partly cloudy skies, and more tolerable values: 23 degrees for the low and 31 for the high.
