Keiko Fujimori confirmed Luis Galarreta, Elmer Cuba, and Carlos Espá to join her cabinet

On the brink of a new era for the nation, the president elect, Keiko Fujimori, has taken a firm step in consolidating a ministerial team designed to rigorously face the structural challenges of the country.

Just one day before officially taking office on July 28, the leader of Fuerza Popular announced the formation of the backbone of her government, highlighting profiles that combine unwavering loyalty with impeccable technical backgrounds in the most critical sectors: political leadership, the economy, and strategic diplomacy.

Luis Galarreta:

At the helm of this national rescue team is Luis Galarreta, who has been appointed as the new president of the Council of Ministers.

The choice of Galarreta is not coincidental; it responds to his deep knowledge of the State and Congress, having led the Parliamentary Board. In the words of the elected president:

"I have seen in Lucho a loyal, hardworking man who is deeply committed to Peru. A man who has never allowed adversity to bend his convictions or his will to serve".

For his part, Galarreta took on the challenge with the commitment to achieve "concrete results" in vital areas such as insecurity, investment growth, and job creation.

Elmer Cuba:

On the economic front, Fujimori's administration bets on orthodoxy and market confidence with the appointment of Elmer Cuba as head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

Cuba, a partner at Macroconsult and former director of the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) in 2016, arrives with the mission of reversing stagnation and restoring stability and growth to the wallets of Peruvians. The new minister has been clear in his vision:

"We will be relentless with the use of public resources. We will close the infrastructure gap and be rigorous with corruption". His goal is for fiscal solvency and low inflation to finally translate into better jobs and better wages, implementing the economic reforms that "have been awaited all century".

Carlos Espá:

Finally, Peru's foreign policy will take a 180-degree turn towards firmness and international cooperation under the leadership of Carlos Espá as chancellor of the Republic.

The former presidential candidate, recognized for his career in management and communication, will lead Peru's integration into the "Shield of the Americas", a key initiative promoted by United States President Donald Trump to crush transnational organized crime and drug trafficking.

Espá has expressed his full support for the construction of maximum-security prisons and for toughening the treatment of criminal leaders, stating that:

"Leaders of criminal organizations must feel the weight of the law. Today many of the extortions start in the prisons and then spread to the rest of the population". With this team, the Government of Keiko Fujimori is preparing to impose order and prosperity from the very first minute of its administration.
