Barbie Simons's painful loss: 'She left with love'
The film and series specialist moved her followers by sharing some sad news
Barbie Simons moved her followers by opening her heart and sharing the difficult personal moment she went through with her dog Myla, her inseparable companion, who was suffering from a terminal illness.
Through a heartfelt post in her Instagram stories, Barbie appeared authentic and vulnerable when talking about the deep pain she was experiencing. "Sometimes we show things on social media that don't fully reflect what we're going through. I'm used to smiling for the camera, to entertain, but the truth is that not everything is as perfect as it seems," the journalist began writing.

With words full of emotion, the film specialist described how she is going through this process with her beloved pet. "For a while now, I've been going through something very difficult for me: Myla, my life companion, is going through a terminal illness. And while I continue to accompany her with all my love and dedication, I'm also learning to live with this deep pain, knowing that she's leaving."
The communicator reflected on anticipatory grief and what it means to continue with the routine while the heart is broken. "It's a living grief. And although on the outside I continue doing my job, smiling or creating content, inside I often break. Miluchi keeps teaching me every day not to give up, to be present, and to value the simple things."

In a final message she posted hours later that day, Barbie shared an image of Myla and wrote: "Today Mila is already resting in peace. My life companion, my four-legged soul. My purest love." Finally, Simons's last post on her Instagram profile, which she accompanied with a very emotional video, began by giving the sad news: "Today, April 9, 2025, Myla left. And I don't know how to continue. It was twelve and a half years together."
The post quickly filled with heartfelt comments from her friends and close ones. Vero Lozano, Sofía Zamolo, Agustina Kampfer, and Guadalupe Vásquez were some of the celebrities who left their words of support. "A big hug dear Barbie. Myla is your little angel forever," said Vásquez. "I hug you Barbie. Your Mila was a great companion and soul friend. What sadness and love to let her go in peace," commented Vero.
