The repercussions of the 2026 World Cup final continue to add new chapters. After various international celebrities questioned Argentina and promoted messages accusing the country of being racist, Cazzu decided to intervene in the debate with a reflection in which she ended up confusing racism with classism.

During a live broadcast from her Instagram account, the singer stated that discrimination exists in the region, although she emphasized that it takes on different characteristics than those observed in other countries, such as the United States. "In Argentina and Latin America, there is a lot of racism, a lot of racism", she initially affirmed.

However, immediately realizing that she was missing the point, she clarified that not all experiences are comparable. "It is not always the same racism experienced in the United States, because each country has its own issues and social problems", she explained.

Throughout her intervention, Cazzu developed the idea that, in many cases, prejudices in the region are linked to people's origin, place of residence, or economic status. As she expressed, this type of discrimination also deserves to be questioned and rejected.

"And I find that terrible, just as I find it terrible that people discriminate based on skin color or origins", she stated.

Cazzu's words were made public in a context of intense public discussion, after various international figures shared critical posts about Argentina following the World Cup final.

But what seemed to be an intervention in favor of the country ended up attracting all the hate from the internet. "Well, she made a career out of playing the victim", "If classism and racism were so strong in Argentina, she wouldn't have succeeded in Argentina. Neither she, nor Sosa, nor Cafrune, nor Atahualpa, much less Jairo. In Argentina, we don't care what color you are" and "So racist that they made you famous despite coming from the north", were some of the messages users left against her.
