The Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrich, presented in San Isidro the official statistics corresponding to the first half of 2025, which show a historic record in cocaine seizures in Argentina, surpassing 2024 figures by 6%.
Additionally, the data reflect a 5% increase in the seizure of synthetic drugs and a 35% rise in marijuana seized compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to Bullrich, during the first six months of 2025, 15,000 operations related to the fight against drug trafficking were carried out, representing a 16% increase compared to 2024. The minister highlighted that the number of people arrested in anti-drug operations rose by more than 27%, noting that this demonstrates a "lower level of impunity."

In Buenos Aires province, Bullrich emphasized the importance of joint work between Federal Forces and the collaboration of citizens through the 134 hotline, in addition to the contribution of internal investigations. "There are many people who call 134 and provide us with concrete information or through the ongoing internal investigations," the minister stressed during the presentation.
The official report indicates that the Bandera Plan – Rosario has become a key tool to reduce violence associated with drug trafficking. In the first half of the year, this plan resulted in 1,738 operations, 1,469 arrests, the seizure of 1,660 kilograms (3,660 pounds) of drugs, 55,000 units of synthetic drugs, and more than 960,000 kilograms (2,116,440 pounds) of chemical precursors. Additionally, intentional homicides in Rosario dropped by 66% in 2024 compared to 2023, along with a reduction in shootings and threats.
In the north of the country, the Güemes Plan focused its action on the Orán border and surrounding areas, targeting smuggling structures operating at border crossings. Between January and June 2025, 1,193 operations were conducted and 464 people were arrested, strengthening the State's presence in one of the most sensitive regions for drug trafficking into the country's interior.

Meanwhile, the 90/10 Plan, designed to reduce homicides in densely populated urban centers, enabled the execution of 3,995 operations in six months, with 2,951 people apprehended. This program seeks to simultaneously dismantle large-scale shipments and neighborhood networks, with key support from the Federal Judiciary.
Bullrich also highlighted Argentina's progress in security at the international level under the government of Javier Milei. The country climbed from 51st to 46th place in the Global Peace Index and was classified as level 1 for travelers by the United States Department of State. Additionally, the homicide rate is currently the lowest in Latin America.
During the event, it was also reported that in 2025 a record number of substances were added to the official list of narcotics, thus expanding the scope of regulations and controls over drugs.
