Pokémon Pocket continues expanding its content with new mechanics for its players. This time, it has introduced Fleeting Glimpses, a tool aimed at facilitating card selection in the Magic Choices.
However, the novelty was not without controversy within the community.
What are Fleeting Glimpses and how do they work?
Fleeting Glimpses give players the chance to take a peek at one of the hidden cards within the Magic Choices, the system where a card is chosen from five random options.
According to the game's news section:
"During this promotion, some magic choices will give you the opportunity to take a fleeting glimpse. Obtaining the cards you want will be somewhat easier than usual."
That is, when making a Magic Choice, there is a chance to reveal a card before making a decision. However, this benefit is not guaranteed in every selection, which has caused criticism among players.
Controversy within the community
The arrival of Fleeting Glimpses was not well received by everyone. Some players have pointed out that, since it is not a guaranteed benefit, it is a strategy to encourage the use of Magic Hourglasses, the in-game currency dedicated to this mode.
Additionally, another point of debate is that the highest rarity cards in the Magic Choices are two-star, including styles like Full Arts and Rainbows, which limits players' expectations regarding obtaining more valuable rewards.
Until when will the promotion be available?
Fleeting Glimpses will be active in Pokémon Pocket from April 3 to April 10, 2025, at 02:59 AM Argentina time. After this period, the mechanic will no longer be available unless the developer decides to reintegrate it in the future.
A novelty with divided opinions
While Fleeting Glimpses can improve the odds of getting a desired card, the lack of guarantee in its activation has caused some discontent in the community.
We will have to wait to see if Pokémon Pocket adjusts this mechanic in the future or integrates it permanently with some modifications.
