Pokémon TCG Pocket: A3 expansion release date leaked

Just weeks away from the launch of the expansion  Festival Brillante (Shining Revelry), news is already circulating about what will be the next big expansion of the game  Pokémon TCG Pocket. According to recent leaks, the A3 expansion will arrive on April 30, 2025, much earlier than many players expected.

A leak that confirms the dataminers' advance

The first hint came months ago through data mining, and recently, with the launch of the A2B expansion that introduced Shiny Pokémon, that prediction gained strength again.  This time, a new review of the game's internal data would have revealed the exact arrival date of the A3 expansion.

Although the official name and theme are still unknown, it is expected to follow the same pattern as previous releases: massive content, special events, and new mechanics that revitalize both casual and competitive play.

Johto as the protagonist?

The latest expansions of Pokémon TCG Pocket have had a clear thematic focus:  Formidable Genes brought Kanto back, while Temporal Space Struggle centered its narrative and cards on Sinnoh. This leaves many fans speculating that the next expansion could be dedicated to the Johto region, although there is still no official confirmation from The Pokémon Company.

This type of regional focus not only generates nostalgia among players but also allows for the introduction of exclusive mechanics and designs, so  the expectation to discover which region will come with A3 is high.

Festival Brillante remains active: more than 120 cards and special events

Meanwhile, the current expansion Festival Brillante remains active,  with more than 120 cards to collect, including 16 Shiny variants. Additionally, the Magical Choices event is underway, bringing two special promotional cards.

Many of these cards are obtained by opening packs or participating in the new competitive mode, which is in its first season. However, one of the promotional cards caused controversy by being accessible only through direct payment, a decision that has divided the community.

Expectations grow among players

The arrival of Shiny Pokémon was a significant change in the dynamics of Pokémon TCG Pocket, and with the A3 expansion on the horizon, expectations about what new types of cards, regions, or rules could be added grow day by day.

If it is confirmed that Johto will be the central focus, we could see the return of iconic characters and emblematic creatures like Typhlosion, Umbreon, or Lugia, increasing the appeal for new and veteran collectors.
