LIVE: President Javier Milei participates in the EFI Expo
It will be at the Buenos Aires Convention Center where there will be prominent figures from the business, academic, and political worlds
This noon, President Javier Milei will participate as one of the central speakers at the 12th edition of Expo EFI, the most important economic, financial, and investment event in Argentina. The event takes place at the Buenos Aires Convention Center (CEC) and brings together more than 150 prominent figures from the business, academic, and political worlds.
Under the motto "Path to Stability: Keys to a Predictable Argentina", Expo EFI is held over two days, April 29 and 30. Therefore, Milei will take advantage of the stage to reinforce his libertarian brand in front of market leaders and potential investors amid an economy seeking to consolidate signs of stabilization.
Discurso del Presidente Milei en la ExpoEFI 2025
Luis Caputo paved the way with a nod to the use of dollars
On the first day of the event, Economy Minister Luis "Toto" Caputo provided key definitions about the direction of the economic plan. After his return from Washington, where he held meetings with the IMF and other international organizations, he anticipated a measure that could have a strong symbolic impact:
"In the next two weeks we will announce a measure that will surprise some, which will encourage the use of dollars", Caputo assured.
The minister explained that the goal is to remonetize the economy and facilitate transactions in foreign currency, without directly speaking of dollarization, but aiming for greater confidence in the financial system.
Milei's strategy: strengthening his pro-market narrative
President Milei arrives at the meeting with the intention of consolidating his pro-market image before entrepreneurs, investors, and analysts. His participation in Expo EFI coincides with a stage of political reconfiguration, where the government seeks to gain support in adverse territories and attract private capital amid a deep recession.
Among those present are also economists and leaders of the financial sector such as Héctor Torres, Fernando Sedano, Alejo Costa, Ricardo Diab, Pilar Tavella, Paulo Belluschi, Diego Martínez Burzaco, and Claudio Zuchovicki, among others.
