The Professional League confirmed the referees for matchday 6 of the 2026 Clausura Tournament, which will feature interzonal matches. Among the most notable games are the classic between Racing and Boca, in Avellaneda, and the clash between River and Vélez, at the Monumental.
Nicolás Ramírez, referee for Racing-Boca
The classic between Racing and Boca, which will take place on Sunday, August 23 at 21:30 at the Cilindro, will have Nicolás Ramírez as the main referee.
This will be the third time that the Buenos Aires referee officiates this matchup. Previously, he refereed the classic corresponding to the 2023 League Cup, which ended with a 2-1 victory for Racing, and the match of the 2025 Clausura, which finished 1-1 at La Bombonera.
Ramírez will be accompanied by Gabriel Chade and Erik Grunmann as assistants, while Pablo Giménez will be the fourth referee. In the VAR will be Fernando Echenique and Diego Verlotta.
Darío Herrera will officiate River-Vélez
Another of the central matches of the sixth round will feature River and Vélez, also on Sunday. The match will start at 19:15 at the Monumental and will have Darío Herrera as the main referee.
The schedule for the interzonal matchday will begin on Friday, August 21 and extend until Monday, August 24, with the 15 matches distributed over four days.
