President Javier Milei will travel to Paris to participate in Argentina Week, an event that will take place from September 30 to October 2 and aims to present the investment opportunities that Argentina offers to European businessmen and investors.

The president will lead the Argentine delegation and will be accompanied by 12 governors and other national officials, in a group that seeks to show the support of different provinces for the economic opening process and attract new investment projects to the country.

Among the provincial leaders who would be part of the tour is Raúl Jalil, governor of Catamarca, along with other governors from different political spaces.

The governors accompanying Milei

According to the information published about the delegation, they would travel with the President Carlos Sadir, from Jujuy; Alfredo Cornejo, from Mendoza; Juan Pablo Valdés, from Corrientes; Marcelo Orrego, from San Juan; Raúl Jalil, from Catamarca; Gustavo Sáenz, from Salta; Alberto Weretilneck, from Río Negro; Ignacio Torres, from Chubut; and Rolando Figueroa, from Neuquén.

Also part of the delegation would be Rogelio Frigerio, governor of Entre Ríos, and Leandro Zdero, from Chaco.

The head of the Buenos Aires government, Jorge Macri, would also be part of the group, although the City of Buenos Aires had not yet officially confirmed his participation.

The delegation aims to bring together representatives from provinces with different productive profiles to present concrete projects and investment opportunities in sectors such as energy, mining, infrastructure, agribusiness, and other strategic areas.

A tour focused on investments

The Argentina Week in Paris will primarily aim to show European businessmen and potential investors the opportunities that exist in the country.

For the governors, the trip also represents an opportunity to present specific projects from their provinces and establish contacts with companies interested in entering or expanding their operations in Argentina.

The initiative will have as a precedent the meeting held in Manhattan in March, when Argentine governors participated in various meetings with American businessmen to promote investment opportunities.

On that occasion, the national government reported that the projects and inquiries arising from the meetings would be forwarded to the corresponding provinces for further analysis.

Political support and governability

The presence of the governors will also have a political dimension, as the tour occurs while Milei's government is negotiating with Congress on various initiatives, including the Budget and the suspension of the PASO.

The participation of provincial leaders seeks to showcase an image of coordination and institutional support for the reform process promoted by the libertarian administration.

However, not all governors close to the government would participate in the trip. Osvaldo Jaldo, from Tucumán, will not travel, while Martín Llaryora, from Córdoba, will send a delegation to represent the province.

For his part, Maximiliano Pullaro, governor of Santa Fe, has reportedly communicated to his circle that he would not participate in the tour, although it has been reported that Diego Santilli, chief of staff, is still trying to convince him to join.

Milei's agenda in Europe

According to the agenda released, Argentina Week will take place from September 30 to October 2 in Paris, following Milei's participation in New York for the United Nations summit.

The President will be accompanied during the tour by his sister and Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, as well as national officials and the governors who ultimately confirm their participation.

The government's expectation is to take advantage of the Argentine delegation's presence in Europe to deepen ties with the private sector and promote new investments, while the provinces will seek to showcase their own projects and productive advantages.

In this context, Raúl Jalil will be one of the governors accompanying Milei in Paris, representing Catamarca during activities aimed at attracting capital and projects for Argentina.
