The reason why Wanda Nara settled a million-dollar debt for Mauro Icardi in Argentina

The businesswoman had to deal with a debt owed to a prepaid medical service of which the athlete is the holder

Since they made their separation official in October 2023, Wanda Nara and Mauro Icardi have been at the center of one of the most turbulent chapters in the entertainment world. Far from reaching a peaceful agreement, the former couple remains locked in a conflict that mixes accusations of infidelity, new romantic relationships, financial defaults, and even an international restitution request. However, amid the media exposure and legal disputes, Wanda Nara prioritizes only one thing: the well-being of her daughters Isabella and Francesca.

One of the most delicate aspects of the conflict between the businesswoman and the footballer revolves around the support of their two youngest daughters.  According to reports, since last July Icardi has allegedly stopped paying the private health insurance that covered the girls and Wanda herself. The payment was automated through the player's card, but he reportedly canceled that account, which caused a significant debt with the health company.

The conflict escalated to the courts, and although the striker was ordered to settle the debt, he has not complied with the ruling so far. Faced with this situation, the media personality was forced to act when a family emergency confronted her with the direct consequences of the lack of coverage.

According to journalist Laura Ubfal on the Bondi streaming channel, the situation reached a breaking point when Wanda requested a doctor at home for her daughter Isabella and was denied due to non-payment. In response, she decided to personally pay the accumulated debt with the private health insurance, which amounted to more than 8 million pesos (over 17,637 pounds). This way, she ensured that her daughters could continue to access health services without depending on the actions—or lack thereof—of her former partner.

Today Wanda paid the entire debt with the private health insurance, which was more than 8 million (over 17,637 pounds)”, Ubfal explained. The journalist also compared this expense with the footballer's decisions: “Between the flights to Türkiye for China Suárez's mother, the three children, and the nanny, Mauro spent 31 months of private health insurance that he did not pay for”.

In addition to the conflict over medical coverage, Mauro Icardi has another legal debt with his daughters: 112,000 dollars in unpaid child support. As a result of this noncompliance, the courts have reportedly proceeded to seize one of his properties, known as "the house of dreams."

Despite these legal measures, Wanda stated that she continues to cover all expenses related to her children on her own. For this reason, every trip or professional project she undertakes, even when she is the target of criticism on social media, is directly linked to her need to generate income to support her family.
