What is known about the version for PS5 and Xbox Series?
Since September 2023, there has been talk of an improved version for next-generation consoles. A leak of internal documents from Microsoft Gaming revealed that Xbox was looking to add an optimized edition of RDR2 to its Game Pass catalog.

Technically, there are no impediments. Switch 2 would have performance similar to a Steam Deck, where RDR2 runs smoothly.

Additionally, Rockstar has already released titles on the first Switch: L.A. Noire (2017), GTA: The Trilogy (2021), and Red Dead Redemption (2023). The relationship with Nintendo is already established.
Take-Two sees potential in the new console
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, stated that Switch 2 could target a broader audience. "Previously, Nintendo focused more on young players. That changed with Switch and could continue with Switch 2," he said in an interview.
He also suggested that GTA 6 could come to Switch 2, although without confirming anything. The comment reignited rumors about the future catalog of Nintendo's new console.

Take-Two prepares several releases for Switch 2
For this year, Take-Two plans to release Civilization VII, Borderlands 4, WWE 2K, and NBA 2K on Switch 2. The company promises more support than ever for a Nintendo platform.
Zelnick stated that while Nintendo usually prioritizes its own titles, he sees signs of a change. "I'm convinced of the potential that this new generation of Nintendo consoles has," he declared.
