River or Boca? Infantino forgot to mention one in his presentation
The FIFA president made the official presentation of the Club World Cup and didn't mention one of the Argentine clubs.
Months before the start of the Club World Cup, Gianni Infantino officially presented the tournament and mentioned the world's top clubs and players participating. Among the teams named, he only mentioned one Argentine team. Who did he mention and who did he "forget"?
During the presentation of the revamped tournament, the FIFA boss listed teams as examples. Of the Argentines, he only mentioned Boca, "forgetting" River and causing Boca fans to mock their classic rival on social media.
"The world's top clubs, which normally only play friendly matches on U.S. soil, will now play official matches here. Real Madrid, Manchester City, PSG, Inter Milan, Inter Miami, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Boca Juniors, Flamengo, and many more will swap preseason friendlies for real competition on U.S. soil," the president stated.

Curiously, a few months ago, the same Infantino mentioned that both teams are major attractions of the tournament: "The rivalry between Boca and River is one of the most prominent in football worldwide, it will be wonderful to have both in the United States. And who knows, maybe enjoy a direct clash between them."
Meanwhile, in this presentation, the head of the international football governing body also referred to the outstanding players who will participate in the tournament: "The FIFA Club World Cup will bring together the best of the best. World football stars like Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Leo Messi, Vinícius Jr, Jude Bellingham, and many more will play matches competing for a brand-new trophy in 12 stadiums across 11 wonderful cities."

River and Boca in the Club World Cup
The Club World Cup will take place between June 14 and July 13, and the Argentine clubs will seek to perform honorably. River will be part of Group E, along with Inter Milan from Italy, Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan, and Monterrey from Mexico (currently managed by former River coach Martín Demichelis). Meanwhile, Boca will compete in Group C, facing Bayern Munich from Germany, Benfica from Portugal, and Auckland City from New Zealand.
