Rocket League celebrates 10 years with new modes, items, and events
A decade later, it continues to evolve and captivate a global community
On July 7, 2025, Rocket League celebrated ten years since its original release. This video game of soccer with cars, developed by Psyonix, not only established itself as an innovative proposal within the industry, but also set a precedent as one of the first multiplayer titles with cross-play.
A decade later, it continues to evolve and captivate a global community.
A decade of sustained growth
Launched on July 7, 2015, Rocket League quickly positioned itself as a phenomenon thanks to its inclusion in the free PlayStation Plus catalog, which boosted more than 5 million downloads in its first month. Although it initially cost USD 20, the switch to a free-to-play model in 2020, after Epic Games acquired the studio, expanded its reach to new audiences.

Epic Games' acquisition of Psyonix in 2019 enabled constant improvement in the game's infrastructure. Over the years, the title incorporated numerous downloadable contents, including collaborations with franchises like Star Wars and soccer teams like Real Madrid, which helped maintain its popularity.
Anniversary events: new modes, items, and exclusive music
Season 19, which began on June 18, commemorates the game's ten years with a series of new features. Among them, the return of DFH Stadium stands out, redesigned especially for this anniversary edition. A 70-level reward pass was also launched, offering classic items from previous seasons and new items linked to clubs like Juventus.
Rocket League introduced new limited-time modes, such as:
- Rocket League FC Clash
- Adidas Soccer Strike
- Party Up - Summer Road Trip
Additionally, the celebration included exclusive musical content in partnership with the Monstercat label, with tracks like "Love U Need U" by Slushii, a strategy that reinforces the fusion between video games and musical entertainment.

Promising future and commitment to the community
Psyonix reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing development of the game. Updates and special events demonstrate that Rocket League continues to expand and isn't satisfied with its past achievements. Its model of constant evolution, together with active involvement with its community, positions it as one of the strongest proposals in the multiplayer market.
Ten years after its inception, Rocket League not only withstands the test of time, but also pushes the boundaries of the genre with creativity, commitment, and long-term vision.
