Rockstar Games put an end to the rumors and officially announced that GTA 6 will not arrive in May, as expected. The company confirmed that the game is delayed and that the new release date will be much later than anticipated.
They acknowledged that the wait will be longer, but assured that the extra months are necessary to reach the level of quality the public demands.

According to Rockstar, GTA 6 will arrive on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series. The PC version is not yet confirmed, although Take-Two has already hinted that it could be released later.
The company regretted "adding more time to an already long wait", but emphasized that the goal is to deliver a product that meets players' expectations.
What did Rockstar say about the delay
In a second message, the studio thanked fans for their patience. They revealed that they are "very excited" about what the vast state of Leonida and the modern version of Vice City will offer.
The team wants to avoid a failed launch and ensure that the game keeps the quality standard that defines the franchise.
A delay that many already expected
For much of the community, the news was not a surprise. Rockstar already did something similar with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, games that also experienced delays before becoming historic successes.
