Rosario: The second suspect in the murder of the parking attendant killed at his job has been arrested.

The detainee was Alejandro Victoriano Cantero, 45 years old, during an operation in the early hours of Tuesday

More than a year after the murder of Bruno Bussanich, the 25-year-old gas station attendant executed at his workplace, the Santa Fe Police managed to arrest the second suspect linked to the crime, amid a context of growing violence that keeps Rosario in a state of emotional siege.

The arrest occurred during a saturation operation carried out in the early hours of Tuesday at the intersection of Patagones and Quintana. According to official sources, the detainee was identified as Alejandro Victoriano Cantero, 45 years old, who had an active arrest warrant since April 14. Along with him, a young man 22 years old, his neighbor, was apprehended. Both were taken to Police Station 32, where they were placed at the disposal of the Justice.

During the procedure, the agents observed the two men in a suspicious attitude. When attempting to identify them, one of them fled, discarding a cell phone during his escape. After a brief chase, the officers managed to detain both individuals. Neither was carrying weapons at the time of being searched.

The arrest warrant against Cantero was directly related to the murder of Bussanich, which occurred on March 10, 2024, at a Puma service station located at Mendoza and Rojas. According to the investigation, Cantero was allegedly the one who transported the hitman who shot the young worker.

The material author of the homicide, according to the case, is a 15-year-old teenager, arrested on March 28 of last year in the Zona Cero neighborhood, after joint work between prosecutors Adrián Spelta and Patricio Saldutti, as part of a series of operations ordered by the Rosario Homicide Prosecutor's Unit. The arrest was achieved after the Santa Fe Government offered a reward of 10 million pesos for information leading to his capture.

The minor confessed his involvement in the act at the time of arrest. He was trying to go unnoticed: he had dyed his hair to avoid being recognized in the security camera images. Due to his age, he was placed at the disposal of the Juvenile Justice, under the condition of being unimputable.

Bussanich's murder marked one of the most chilling moments of the wave of violence that hit Rosario in March 2024. In the images recorded by security cameras, the striker is seen getting out of a Fiat Duna, heading directly to the young man, and shooting him without a word.

At the scene, a note with explicit threats to the governor of Santa Fe, Maximiliano Pullaro, and the Minister of Security, Pablo Cococcioni, was also found, allegedly signed by members of organized crime. The message rejected the measures implemented in the province's prisons to contain the drug gangs.

Bussanich's execution was not an isolated incident. In that same week, the violence claimed three other innocent lives: Diego Alejandro Celentano (38) and Héctor Raúl Figueroa (43), both taxi drivers, and the bus driver Marcos Iván Daloia (39), were killed in similar attacks. This is in addition to another incident on March 6, where gunmen on motorcycles fired at a bus on line 122 at Cerrito and Mexico. In this case, fortunately, there were no victims, but the terror was the same.
