Samsung unveils the Galaxy Watch 8 with two features that surprise
Samsung has confirmed the design of the Galaxy Watch 8 and two health features that will only be available on its new models
Samsung has confirmed the new design of the Galaxy Watch 8 and two health features that will arrive with this model. The South Korean brand announced it just days before the Galaxy Unpacked event, which will take place on July 9.
The new smartwatches will incorporate more precise measurements and a revamped interface. One of the most surprising details is that one of the new features can be used without wearing the watch.

A revamped design inspired by the Watch Ultra
The Galaxy Watch 8 adopts a "squircle" aesthetic, with rounded corners and a square body. This design had already appeared in previous leaks, but now it has been officially confirmed.
The animation published by Samsung clearly shows the new format, which is more robust and modern, reminiscent of the Galaxy Watch Ultra launched in 2024.
Samsung Health gets updated and teases features
The Samsung Health app has received an update that revealed two new exclusive features for the Galaxy Watch 8: Vascular Load and Antioxidant Index.

Both appear labeled as features in the "Labs" phase, and it is clarified that they will only be available on the new models.
What is Vascular Load?
It is an advanced feature that analyzes the condition of blood vessels to provide preventive information about cardiovascular health.

This feature had already been anticipated as exclusive to the new generation, and now it is confirmed that it will be available starting with the Galaxy Watch 8.
Antioxidant Index: how it is measured
The major innovation is that it is not necessary to wear the watch to perform this measurement. The process requires placing your finger directly on the sensor located on the back of the device.
This index analyzes the presence of molecules that protect cells against free radicals. This makes it possible to determine the body's level of oxidative stress.

How many models will be introduced?
Samsung will launch three new watches on July 9: Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra.
All will come with the new Wear OS 6 system and the One UI 8 Watch interface. They are expected to improve performance, health monitoring, and battery life.
