Sanmartinian National Passport: the proposal that unites history, tourism, and culture

A journey through 83 historic sites in 12 provinces to relive the Liberator's feat and boost tourism

The Sanmartinian National Passport (PNS) is a tourism and cultural initiative that covers 83 sites linked to the life and work of General José de San Martín, distributed across 11 Argentine provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

The initiative is part of the Caminos de la Libertad program and seeks to revalue the legacy of the Libertador, promoting cultural tourism and national identity.

A joint effort with national reach

The project was developed by the governments of Mendoza, San Juan, and San Luis, with the support of the Instituto Nacional Sanmartiniano, the National Secretariat of Tourism, Sports, and Environment, and the Argentine Chamber of Tourism. It also has the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Marca País seal.

In total, 12 provinces have certified Sanmartinian sites, with Mendoza standing out the most, featuring 28 historic sites in nine municipalities.

How the Sanmartinian National Passport works

Travelers can obtain the passport on the official website pasaportenacionalsanmartiniano.tur.ar or through EntradaWeb. The document includes pages to stamp each site visited, organized in chronological order from Yapeyú (Corrientes) to the Mausoleum of General San Martín in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos Aires.

Once completed, participants gain access to prizes and experiences in other provinces, strengthening cultural and tourism exchange.

A historic circuit of great national value

The PNS includes iconic places such as:

  • Templete Casa Natal del General San Martín (Corrientes).
  • Campo Histórico El Plumerillo (Mendoza).
  • Museo Casa Histórica de la Independencia (Tucumán).
  • Bóvedas de Uspallata (Mendoza).
  • Instituto Nacional Sanmartiniano (CABA).
  • Cementerio de La Recoleta (CABA).

Each site has been certified for its relevance to the life of the Libertador or the epic of the Army of the Andes.

Cultural tourism with Argentine identity

More than a simple tour, the Sanmartinian National Passport is a tool to rediscover history, encourage domestic tourism, and connect visitors with the roots of independence.

With a carefully selected list of sites and a design that combines history and adventure, it stands out as one of the most patriotic tourism programs in contemporary Argentina.
