Santiago Maratea made headlines this week after it became known that "he was being intensely sought by the justice system." The content creator and influencer was reported by the College of Nutritionists of the Province of Buenos Aires after publicly giving advice on nutrition "without holding a qualifying degree," which led to a case in Correctional Court No. 2 of La Plata, presided over by Judge Diego Tatarsky.
Tired of the speculation that arose around this issue, he decided to speak on his social media and reveal the secret plot behind this complaint against him.
"Good morning. Everything alright? I have a lot to tell you. About all the lore that was caused around the nutritionists. Actually, about the College of Nutritionists of Buenos Aires, more specifically about its president, Laura Salzman", the influencer began by recapping.
"For me, it's important to clarify that the only supposed complaint I have is for slander and libel, for having said that for me, and without generalizing, many nutritionists are traumatized about nutrition", he asserted.
However, the young man brought scientific evidence that he shared with users. "I'm not the one saying this. A scientific study says so, which was conducted with more than 100 nutrition students, and listen: 'In a dietary study, more than 100 students of the nutrition program were evaluated, and the result was that more than half, 48% internalized the aesthetic model of thinness, and that is directly linked to eating disorders. Also, more than 15% of women and more than 20% of men showed dissatisfaction with their bodies.'"
He then left the link so that all his followers could go and verify this information on the Internet. However, his words would not be the only thing that would have bothered Laura Salzman, but also that a large number of people working at the College of Nutritionists of Buenos Aires would be reporting her through the influencer for financial irregularities, which would include fraud and requesting bank loans while being in negative deficit.
"She can't explain the lack of 35,000 dollars, the negative balances, invoices submitted, and loans that she would have requested from Banco Provincia, without knowing who authorized it or what that money was used for", the young man concluded indignantly.
