Santiago Martínez was arrested for gender-based violence against his ex-wife Emily Ceco.

After a police raid at his home, the former Love is Blind participant was arrested for gender-based violence.

The gender violence case involving former participants of Love is Blind (Netflix) Emily Ceco and her husband Santiago Martínez took a significant turn this week when, after three long weeks of complaints, Martínez was arrested.

The 30-year-old had filed the complaint in February, accusing her then-husband of physical and psychological violence. Martínez's arrest was the result of an investigation process that culminated in a raid on his home.

The moment of the arrest was broadcast live on the show El Ejército de la Mañana (Bondi Live), where a video sent by a follower showed the police arriving at Martínez's residence. In the footage, Santiago is seen watching from the balcony as police cars park in front of his home. This video caused a great impact on social media, reflecting the horror Emily lived in silence for weeks.

The accused faces serious charges, including attempted femicide, aggravated minor injuries, and unlawful deprivation of liberty. The case is being investigated by Morón's prosecutor, María Laura Cristini, who will interrogate Martínez in the coming hours.

On A la Barbarossa (Telefe), Emily broke down in tears upon learning of her ex-husband's arrest. "Today when my lawyer called me, I burst into tears. I felt that justice was finally being served," she confessed through sobs, and continued, "I had been holding back a lot, I was having a very hard time, and I felt that it was difficult for justice to be done. I broke down in tears because I felt relief."

The young woman revealed the suffering she endured during her relationship, detailing the moments of terror: "What he did was an attempted femicide. Because you don't strangle a person, you don't cover their mouth until they can't breathe if you don't want to kill them. He wanted to kill me. He couldn't, but that was his intention," she explained.

Currently, Emily is living at her parents' house, where she receives the support and care she needs to begin healing. Despite the distress, she is trying to resume her life and, with her mother's support, has started working on some projects, seeking to regain normalcy after the trauma suffered: "I'm doing an advertisement, and my mom accompanies me at all times. They encourage me to go out, to put on makeup, to try to regain my life," were her sincere words.
