After being appointed as the new Chief of Staff, Diego Santilli gave an interview in which he made key political statements and reaffirmed his alignment with the direction of the Government of Javier Milei.
The official, who until now served as Minister of the Interior, stated that he is facing “the most important challenge” of his political life and announced that he already has multiple work meetings planned.
Santilli detailed that the call from President Milei took place on Sunday night. “Last night at seven fifteen, seven twenty,” he specified about the exact moment he received the call. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30 at 4 PM at the Casa Rosada.

In his statements, he also referred to his relationship with former President Mauricio Macri. While he expressed a positive assessment of his figure, he made it clear that the current political leadership is fully consolidated in the libertarian president.
“The leadership today, clearly and emphatically, belongs to Javier Milei, who won the elections, who won them again, and if God willing, I would like him to be reelected so that the change in Argentina continues and grows for decades,” he explained.
When asked about the content of the conversation he had with Macri, the leader chose to keep it private. “I am a very respectful person and I keep my conversations within the scope of the discussion I had,” he stated, avoiding giving additional details.

In another part of the interview, the official highlighted the work of the outgoing Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, and emphasized his commitment until the end of the administration. “Until the last day, whenever there was an issue from a province or a reform issue, Manuel was always issuing the necessary decree, issuing the necessary resolution,” he affirmed.
Additionally, he noted that in the last week, significant legislative advances were made, including the approval of reforms in Congress, such as the so-called “Super RIGI” in the Chamber of Deputies and the cancellation of historical debt with holdouts.
Finally, when asked about his electoral aspirations in the province of Buenos Aires, Santilli avoided making definitions and made it clear what his current priority is. “I am facing the most important decision in political matters of my life. My mind is focused here,” he concluded
