Schiaretti and Pichetto are planning to create a new and lukewarm centrist space for 2027
As if polarization did not exist, they seek to create a moderate space with the same names as always
National Deputy Miguel Ángel Pichetto enthusiastically announced a centrist political alliance together with Juan Schiaretti. The initiative, which no one outside Congress seems to have requested, aims at the 2027 presidential elections. According to Pichetto, it would be a "healthy" proposal, although he did not explain for whom or why.
Meanwhile, as Argentine politics is defined between Mileismo and the entire opposition, Pichetto is betting on a center that has been floating in limbo for years. "Now Kicillof brought them forward, and this election is going to be strongly polarized," he warned, as if that were news. Ignoring the current political context, he keeps that there is room for a third way with leaders who have already tried everything... except retiring.
"A new development emerged at that closing," Pichetto said, referring to a centrist alliance with Schiaretti and other familiar names. "The idea is to try to bring balance between the extremes, it can be very healthy looking ahead to the 2027 presidential elections," he added. The "novelty," apparently, is that the same old faces now present themselves as innovators.

Recycled candidates, old promises, and a bet on moderation in a country split in two
When asked about the possible return of Schiaretti as a deputy, Pichetto described him as a "central and relevant figure of Córdoba's Peronism". "He was not only successful as governor, but together with De la Sota they created a model of political construction," he explained, as if that still moved the needle. It seems that adding state résumés is more important than adding votes, which they clearly do not have.
For Pichetto, Schiaretti would "undoubtedly" elevate the Chamber of Deputies, although he did not clarify whether it would be due to experience or seniority. "But it is a decision for Córdoba's Peronism," he pointed out, in another gesture of institutional courtesy. The Chamber, for now, will continue waiting for that supposed elevation that has been pending for several legislatures.
The formation of this new-old centrist space seems more like a reunion of former fellow travelers than a project with real prospects. The voting intention is still not reflected in any serious poll, but the intention to remain in the race certainly is. In times of division, insisting on lukewarmness sounds more like nostalgic voluntarism than a political plan.
