PRO loses political influence while La Libertad Avanza consolidates its own majority in the Chamber of Deputies

Less than a week before the legislative elections, the political map of the Argentine Congress began to be reshaped. Seven national deputies linked to Patricia Bullrich, current Minister of Security, formalized their split from the PRO bloc led by Cristian Ritondo and announced their incorporation into La Libertad Avanza, thus expanding President Javier Milei's legislative support base.

The names distancing themselves from Macrismo are Damián Arabia, Sabrina Ajmechet, Laura Rodríguez Machado, Silvana Giudici, Patricia Vázquez, María Luisa González Estevarena, and Carlos Almenda, all representatives of the Bullrichist sector who had been distancing themselves from Mauricio Macri's party leadership.

According to sources close to Bullrich, the decision responds to the "resounding electoral victory last Sunday", which reshaped the balance of power and consolidated the libertarian space as the main driver of political change. "Society dictated who leads the way for change," said leaders close to the minister, who emphasize that "the alliance with Milei is now a political and programmatic fact."

The final trigger would have been Arabia's expulsion from PRO in August, signed by Macri himself under a formal argument—absences from the party council—which, according to the Bullrichist camp, concealed a political sanction for his closeness to the libertarians.

The maneuver exposes the terminal crisis of PRO as an autonomous force and the process of absorption of Macrismo by the new liberal administration, which is gaining strength in both chambers. Ritondo's circle acknowledged that the defection "was to be expected" and that the bloc "will lose political weight as of December 10."

Meanwhile, Milei keeps an open dialogue with Macri himself, although internal tensions within PRO reveal a scenario in which Bullrich's figure emerges as the real bridge between liberalism and the old center-right electorate.

The move of the Bullrichist faction to the ranks of La Libertad Avanza not only redefines parliamentary balances: it marks the beginning of a new stage, in which Milei's project begins to consolidate a political and moral majority capable of supporting the structural reforms the country needs.
