Silksong is almost here: Team Cherry has confirmed the game's release date
After years of mystery, Hollow Knight's sequel now has a tentative release date: before the end of the year
Team Cherry officially confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong, one of the most anticipated titles of the last decade, will arrive on the market before this Christmas.
The reveal took place during the recent Xbox Games Showcase, an event that brought relief and excitement to the gaming community, which has grown accustomed to years of uncertainty and speculation.
A long road of waiting and theories
Originally announced in 2019, Silksong sparked enormous anticipation from the very beginning. However, the lack of official information over the years gave rise to a unique phenomenon: the creation of a cult around the game. "The community even interpreted cooking recipes as hints about the release," users commented in specialized forums, alluding to the now famous "cake fiasco."

Despite the silence, the loyalty of the fans did not wane. Every trailer, demo, or slightest preview caused massive reactions on social media. In fact, the game's absence from previous showcase editions became a trending topic. Finally, during the latest Xbox presentation, what many had been hoping for was confirmed: Silksong will see the light of day before the end of the year.
Matthew Griffin confirmed the date
It was Matthew Griffin, Team Cherry's marketing manager, who cleared up the doubts via Discord. There, he assured that the release will be "before Christmas 2025." The statement was enough to rekindle the excitement. "After so long, having hope again feels almost unreal," a fan expressed on X (formerly Twitter).
Multiplatform release: an inclusive bet
Another aspect that added points to the studio's strategy was the confirmation of the release on multiple platforms. Silksong will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. This decision, contrary to the increasingly frequent exclusivities, was celebrated as a commitment to inclusion.

"We want as many people as possible to be able to play Silksong," the studio explained in a previous response. The kingdom of Pharloom, the setting for this new installment, is thus preparing to welcome players from all over the world and on every device.
A masterpiece on the horizon
Although there is still no exact date, everything indicates that the wait is coming to an end. With every image released, the promise of an unforgettable experience grows stronger. The metroidvania community is preparing to once again immerse itself in a world as challenging as it is beautiful.
"Patience will be rewarded," they wrote on the official subreddit. This time, everything seems to indicate that they are right.
