A dramatic scene took place this morning in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Parque Chacabuco, when a man who had been stabbed tried to escape in his car, lost control of the vehicle, and ended up hitting a woman who was walking down the street. Both died as a result of the incident.
The episode unfolded around 7:20, at the border with Bajo Flores. According to reports, it all began at the intersection of Castañares and Corea, where the driver was traveling with his partner. At that point, they reportedly received a stone throw, which caused the man to get out of the car and confront two people. During that altercation, he was attacked with a knife.
Despite the wound, the driver managed to return to his vehicle and drive to the corner of Avenida Cobos and Puán. There, he lost consciousness and struck a woman who was on the street. The impact caused the death of both the man and the woman, who was dragged by the car for about 15 meters. Finally, the car crashed into a bakery.
The suspect of having committed the stabbing was identified as Matías Pérez, 27 years old, who has a history of six arrests since August of last year for cases related to theft and possession of weapons.

On September 27, 2024, he was arrested for a theft and released the next day. In February of this year, he was detained again for the same crime, and once more regained his freedom after spending only 24 hours in custody. Finally, on March 18, he was captured for the third time for the same reason, being released two days later. Additionally, he has three records for carrying unconventional weapons, registered between August 2024 and January of this year.
