Stellantis is moving forward with the installation of a new production line at its plant in Ferreyra, Córdoba, where it will begin manufacturing the Multijet 2.2 turbodiesel engine starting in 2027.
The engine will be destined for the Fiat Titano and RAM Dakota pick-ups and will also target the markets of Brazil and Uruguay, strengthening the exports of the Argentine automotive industry.
The addition of this line represents one of the main components of the USD 385 million investment plan that the automaker announced at the end of 2024, encouraged by the RIGI of the Government of Javier Milei.

The project aims to boost the national production of components and increase the degree of local integration within the Córdoba industrial complex.
The new engine will also allow for progress in the substitution of imported units. In this way, part of the engines that currently arrive from Europe will begin to be produced in Argentina, resulting in an increase in the national content of the vehicles manufactured by Stellantis.
The production of the Multijet 2.2 will be directly linked to two models of the company: the Fiat Titano and the RAM Dakota, both within the medium pick-up segment. The local manufacturing of the engine will also have a regional dimension, as part of the units produced in Córdoba will be exported to Brazil and Uruguay.

The advancement of the new line is part of the disbursement announced by Stellantis in 2024, which included three different projects related to the expansion of its industrial operations in Argentina. Among them were the development of a new range of vehicles, the manufacturing of new components, and the incorporation of a new engine into national production.
With the start-up planned for 2027, Stellantis will deepen the manufacturing of components in Argentina and reduce dependence on imported engines.
