The benefit of free subwayforretirees will have a simpler and in-person process in the City of Buenos Aires. The Buenos Aires Legislature approved Dispatch No. 0339-26, which modifies Law No. 6,817 and eliminates part of the current requirements.
The new scheme applies to retirees, pensioners, and retired members of the Armed Forces and security who meet the limit established by the regulations.

With the approved modification, the process can be carried out in person at all municipal offices in the City.
To initiate the process, beneficiaries must present only two documents:
ID card.
Pay stub.
The new procedure eliminates various steps that were part of the previous scheme. Among them were entering the Remote Procedures System (TAD), presenting a certificate of ARCA, and the negative certification from ANSES.

The benefit applies to those who receive up to 2.5 minimum wages, according to the provisions of current legislation.
The measure includes retirees, pensioners, and retired members of the Armed Forces and security in the City of Buenos Aires.

The head of the Buenos Aires Government, Jorge Macri, explained that, once registered, access will be direct using the ID card.
“They register, pass the ID card through the turnstile. Simple,” Macri stated while explaining the expected operation for the free subway for retirees.
The initiative was promoted by deputy Graciela Ocaña and worked on together with the Buenos Aires Executive.
When will the new process take effect?
The new system still needs to complete the corresponding process before it begins to be applied. The modification must be enacted and subsequently regulated.

Once the law is enacted, the Buenos Aires Executive Power will have a maximum period of 60 calendar days to regulate it.
From that regulation, the procedure for registration and directly using the ID card to access the subway without paying will be defined.
