Superclásico: How did the list of youngest players to score a goal turn out?

With his goal against Boca, Franco Mastantuono became the second youngest player to score in the classic between Millonarios and Xeneizes

Franco Mastantuono scored a true free-kick goal to open the scoring in the Superclásico. At 17 years and 256 days old, the native of Azul became the second youngest player to score in these matches, only surpassed by a Boca player from the 70s.

Midway through the first half, Marcos Rojo fouled Sebastián Driussi near the area. The one responsible for taking the free kick was the young River player, who placed his shot in the top right corner to the astonishment of Marchesín, who couldn't react.

With this goal, Mastantuono became the youngest River player to score in a Superclásico. Previously, the record belonged to Conejito Saviola, who did the same on May 17, 2000, at 18 years and 5 months, in the Libertadores quarterfinals. Closing the podium, Ermindo Onega was of a similar age when he scored his first goal against Boca, in the 2-2 draw on September 28, 1958.

Other River players who were 18 years old when they scored against their classic rival were Hernán Crespo (April 30, 1994; 2-0 at the Bombonera), Gonzalo Higuaín (October 8, 2006; 3-1 at the Monumental), and Marcelo Gallardo (December 11, 1994 at the Bombonera).

However, Mastan is not the youngest player in the entire history of the Superclásico to score a goal. That record is still held by Abel Alves, a Boca player who, in the xeneize victory on October 26, 1975 at the Monumental, scored at 17 years and 249 days, a week younger than the River youngster.

The top 5 is completed by Jorge Tévez, who was 18 years and 8 months old when he scored the only goal for River in Boca's 5-1 thrashing, in the interzonal of the National Tournament of 1982.
