Córdoba supermarkets demand a reduction in provincial and municipal taxes
The supermarket sector requested tax relief at the 43rd Supermarket Conference
Córdoba's supermarket chains called for a reduction in provincial and municipal taxes that directly impact shelf prices. They pointed out that today the tax burden from the three levels of government exceeds 50% of the final price of products.
The request was made at the start of the 43rd Argentine Supermarket Conference, held at the Quorum Hotel Convention Center. More than 1,500 sector representatives, 250 supplier companies, and 115 chains participated in a key event for the business agenda.
At the opening, the president of the Argentine Chamber of Supermarkets (CAS), Víctor Palpacelli, highlighted the need to reduce the tax burden. He stated that this measure would improve prices and strengthen product turnover in neighborhood stores.

The Nation's effort and the demand to provinces and municipalities
Palpacelli emphasized that the national government has already made a necessary adjustment and an initial stage of tax reduction. He stressed the importance of provinces and municipalities joining this path to consolidate the recovery of the private sector.
"Tax relief must occur at all levels of government," Palpacelli said. He added that the positive impact of lower taxes would be directly reflected in prices, benefiting both consumers and merchants.

Response from the Province and business expectations
Minister Dellarossa stated that spaces for dialogue are being created to analyze alternatives that reduce the tax burden. He confirmed that the request has already been conveyed to Governor Martín Llaryora and that measures are being studied to provide relief to commerce, which is currently subject to Gross Income Tax.
Casac, which brings together 17 chains in Córdoba with more than 300 points of sale, represents 15,000 direct jobs and 25,000 indirect jobs. Supermarket owners insist that lowering the tax burden would sustain employment and improve competitiveness against industry.
The Nation has already shown its commitment by reducing export duties and providing macroeconomic predictability. For business owners, now it is time for provinces and municipalities to adjust their accounts, eliminating burdens that hinder private activity.

An anticipated edition and the future of the sector
The return of the Supermarket Conference to Córdoba was celebrated by business owners, industrialists, and suppliers. More than one hundred business rounds and conferences by national and international specialists were held.
Palpacelli highlighted the importance of Córdoba serving as a link between suppliers and industrialists from different provinces. He pointed out that the union between the private sector and the State is key to consolidating economic growth.
