Oscar and Juan Gálvez racetrack was the scene this Sunday of a shocking accident during the first round of the Buenos Aires Top Race Cup. Driver Luis Gastaldi's Toyota Corolla went off the track in the curve before the main straight, resulting in a violent crash that caused him to hit the grandstand. Miraculously, there were no injuries among the spectators.

The accident occurred a few minutes before the end of the competition. Gastaldi tried to turn at the hairpin, but he lost control of the vehicle, which became unstable and was thrown until it hit the grandstand roof. The impact was so violent that one of the wheels detached and flew onto the karting track, where a race of the IAME category was taking place.

Although the driver did not suffer serious injuries, he was taken to a medical center for tests to confirm his health status. The incident marked a bitter return for Gastaldi, who had not raced in the category since July 9, 2023, in La Rioja.

Shortly after, tension returned to the circuit when Adrián Hamze suffered an accident in the same sector. His car went off the track and crashed near the remains of Gastaldi's vehicle. Fortunately, he was also unharmed.

Beyond the accidents, in sporting terms the victory went to Diego Verriello, who confirmed his status as champion in the unified division. After an initial duel with Emiliano Stang, he managed to take control of the race and cross the finish line first. Meanwhile, the podium was completed by Norberto Grosso with his Ford and Leonel Pernía with his Fiat.
