The Government of Javier Milei announced the incorporation of five new state-of-the-art C-arcs for the operating rooms of the Garrahan Hospital, as part of the modernization process of the country's main pediatric center.
The total investment amounts to $1,546,039,687 and is part of a broader plan to strengthen the hospital system.
The newly incorporated equipment replaces technology that is over 15 years old and will expand the hospital's operational capacity. Additionally, they provide high-definition images in real-time with lower radiation exposure, improving both precision and safety in high-complexity interventions.

During a press conference at Casa Rosada, presidential spokesperson Adrián Ravier highlighted the impact of the administration on improving the healthcare system.
“Administrative efficiency translates into better care for patients and better working conditions for healthcare personnel,” he stated.
In that vein, he assured that Garrahan Hospital “is going through a phase of order, efficiency, planning, and recognition of merit, with the goal of becoming the best pediatric hospital in Latin America.”
The spokesperson also referred to the situation during the Kirchner era and noted that, at the beginning of President Javier Milei's administration, the hospital faced “years of scarce investment in infrastructure and equipment, along with an oversized structure of political and administrative positions.”
As he explained, the reorganization process allowed for the redirection of resources to key areas of the healthcare system. “Resources today are allocated where they really need to be: to doctors, to residents, and to equipment that improves patient care,” he maintained.

In this context, Ravier emphasized that Garrahan has achieved, for the first time, balance in its accounts and highlighted the implementation of an investment plan exceeding $30 billion, the most significant since the hospital's creation.
Among the concrete improvements, the official mentioned an 88% salary increase for medical staff during 2025, the addition of 310 state-of-the-art hospital beds, the reopening of the helipad, the installation of a linear accelerator for pediatric oncology treatment, the acquisition of a tomosimulator, and the comprehensive renewal of the establishment's wheelchairs.
“The incorporation of these new C-arcs demonstrates that when resources are managed efficiently, the results are tangible: more technology, greater operational capacity, and a Garrahan Hospital that continues to modernize to provide excellent care to children and their families,” concluded the spokesperson.
With these initiatives, the Milei Government seeks to consolidate a management model focused on efficiency and investment in healthcare infrastructure, aiming to strengthen service quality and expand the public system's capacity to care for patients after decades of neglect.
