The Government of Javier Milei announced the results of the Aprender 2025 tests and highlighted a significant improvement in the performance of primary school students, especially in Language, where the best indicators of the last ten years were achieved.

According to the official report from the Ministry of Human Capital, in sixth grade, 76.9% of students achieved satisfactory and advanced levels in Language, the highest figure of the last decade.

At the same time, the percentage of students below the basic level decreased to 4.9%, marking a significant drop compared to previous measurements.

The evaluation also recorded the highest historical participation since its implementation, with 95% of schools and 84% of students involved. In total, the test reached 750,000 sixth-grade students from more than 20,000 educational institutions across the country, allowing for a broad diagnosis of the educational system.

From the department led by Sandra Pettovello, they noted that these advances reflect the impact of the educational policies implemented by the Milei Government, based on constant evaluation and coordinated work among jurisdictions.

In this sense, they highlighted that all 24 provinces improved their performance in Language, with more marked progress in those regions facing greater learning difficulties.

A central point of the report is the progress recorded in the so-called Alpha Schools, included in the National Literacy Plan for presenting greater pedagogical challenges.

In these institutions, improvements were observed across all socioeconomic levels, with a significant reduction of the gaps compared to other institutions. In the most vulnerable sectors, the difference reached 17.6 points.

The Ministry also explained that in the educational field, each point of improvement represents a substantial change: it equates to about 7,900 students acquiring skills they previously did not reach. In this context, the increase of 10.5 points in Language implies that more than 80,000 additional students achieved the expected levels.

Great improvement compared to 2023

Compared to the 2023 evaluation, the results show a strong advance. In that year, 11.9% of students were below the basic level, while in 2025 that percentage dropped to 4.9%. Meanwhile, the satisfactory and advanced levels increased from 66.4% to 76.9%, consolidating a sustained improvement.

In Mathematics, progress was also recorded, although challenges remain. Currently, 5 out of 10 students reach satisfactory and advanced levels, a positive figure but one that requires continued effort to improve.

In this regard, the Ministry of Human Capital announced that, following the federal agreement reached in April at the Federal Council for Literacy, strategies will be reinforced to enhance performance in this area.

“The Aprender 2025 tests show concrete advances in student learning and demonstrate that with clear objectives and agreements, results come, and children truly learn. These results confirm that educational policies based on evidence, evaluation, and joint work improve learning,” stated the department.

Finally, the Milei Government emphasized that it will continue working to ensure that all students achieve at least satisfactory levels and to expand educational opportunities, consolidating the progress made in this evaluation.
