The data shows that next weekend had the highest tourist activity since records began
The official data from the tourism sector confirmed that the long weekend of November 20 became the most successful in recent history, far surpassing all previous records collected since 2010, thanks to the economic recovery achieved by the government of Javier Milei.
The arrival figures, hotel occupancy, and activity in the country's main destinations show an unprecedented level of activity, particularly in Mar del Plata, Pinamar, Cariló, Tandil, and Iguazú Falls.
President Javier Milei celebrated the results in a message on X. There, he retweeted the message: “Confirmed. This long weekend of 11/20 is the most successful in its history. Only in Mar del Plata, the provisional total arrivals show a 38% increase compared to 2023, a 50% increase compared to 2022, and a 25% increase compared to 2021. Absolute record...”

Official data
The Secretariat of Tourism and Environment, led by Daniel Scioli, reported that in Pinamar and Cariló, hotel occupancy reached exceptional levels, with 94% and 98% respectively.
In a post accompanied by the mayor of Pinamar, Juan Ibarguren, Scioli stated: “Beaches and spaces crowded with people,” and recalled that “in October, we organized a meeting with more than 60 representatives from the public, private, and academic sectors to coordinate actions ahead of the long weekend and summer season.”
According to him, “the success of next weekend confirms that Pinamar is consolidating itself as one of the most popular destinations and that an excellent summer season is coming.”
The data released by Tourism indicate that total arrivals for the long weekend reached 158,775 visitors in four days, “37.9% more than the same long weekend in 2023.”

The department added that the historical series of arrivals since 2010 shows that next weekend had the highest tourism activity in at least 15 years, surpassing the previous record from November 2019, when 133,691 arrivals were recorded.
The measurement is based on estimates from the Municipal Tourism and Culture Agency, which consolidates data from road and highway entries, buses, trains, and flights, with information provided by toll concessionaires, the Bus Terminal, Trenes Argentinos, and the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC).
Meanwhile, Iguazú Falls recorded a notable tourist flow: 6,020 arrivals on Friday, 7,700 on Saturday, and 5,871 on Sunday. Other destinations, meanwhile, showed full occupancy levels, such as Tandil, where, according to Milei, occupancy reached “100 percent.”
During the weekend, Scioli held meetings with tourism entrepreneurs in Mar del Plata, Tandil, and Pinamar, the main hubs of the Buenos Aires Atlantic Coast, in a context defined by records that position the long weekend as the most successful in recent history according to the available official data.
