Last Monday, June 2, Owen Wilson was invited to the show Jimmy Kimmel Live! and shared an emotional moment he experienced with his children, Ford and Finn. The actor took the little ones to Los Angeles's BMO Stadium to watch Argentine star Lionel Messi, Inter Miami's standout, in action.
The experience went beyond soccer. During the match, Messi approached the area where the Wilson family was seated and greeted the children directly. The gesture did not go unnoticed: it was recorded, shared on social media, and quickly went viral.
A magical night at the stadium
Wilson, known worldwide for starring in Zoolander or lending his voice to the character Lightning McQueen in Cars, enthusiastically recounted how his children experienced that moment. "We were very excited," he confessed to Kimmel, still surprised by the closeness to the player.

During the interview, both revisited the video showing Messi greeting the family from the field. Wilson recalled the moment as a scene straight out of a John Hughes movie, comparing it to "Pretty in Pink" for how surreal and moving it was.
