The main business entities in Argentina supported the measures announced by President Javier Milei to reinforce the claim of sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands and protect the natural resources located in Argentine territories currently under British occupation.
The statement was made by the G6, a group composed of the Argentine Banking Association (ADEBA), the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange (BCBA), the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC), the Argentine Chamber of Construction (CAMARCO), the Argentine Rural Society (SRA), and the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA).

In a joint statement, the entities expressed their support for the National Government's position in defense of Argentine sovereignty over the Malvinas, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands, and the corresponding maritime spaces, in addition to supporting actions aimed at safeguarding the country's natural resources.
“Sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands is a national, permanent, and inalienable cause that transcends political differences and must unite all Argentines,” stated the G6.

The business sector also emphasized the need to firmly maintain the Argentine claim within the framework of the National Constitution, international law, and the pursuit of a peaceful solution through diplomacy and negotiation.
The collective support came after various entities individually expressed their backing for the presidential announcements. The Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services stated that the measures constitute “correct actions in defense of sovereignty” and particularly highlighted the pressure on companies that collaborate directly or indirectly with the exploitation of resources in the islands.
The CAC considered that, in light of the prospect of exploiting subsoil resources, actions directed against those companies are necessary to discourage what it termed a potential “spoliation of national assets.”

For its part, the Argentine Rural Society expressed its support for the sovereignty claim and the package announced by Milei to safeguard natural resources, while the Inter-American Council of Commerce and Production (CICyP) supported initiatives aimed at preserving national interests.
The business support came after Milei announced a series of measures to strengthen the Argentine position regarding activities conducted in the archipelago without national authorization.
Among them is the regulation of sanction mechanisms provided in the Law 26.659 against companies involved in oil operations and the submission to Congress of a National Sovereignty Defense Law, which aims to expand the available tools to act against companies linked to unauthorized projects.

The package announced by the Government also includes measures aimed at strengthening Argentina's strategic presence in the South Atlantic.
With the G6 statement, the main sectors of banking, industry, commerce, construction, and agriculture agreed to support the policy promoted by Milei and to once again position the Malvinas cause as a state policy above party differences.
