The Government of Javier Milei announced a salary increase of up to 43% for teachers working in institutes and lyceums under the authority of the Ministry of Defense, a measure aimed at addressing a long-standing demand and advancing the improvement and professionalization of teaching staff in the National Defense Education System.
The increase will reach more than 1,400 teachers and will be applied proportionally according to hours worked, benefiting 48% of the total who are part of the educational system under the Ministry's jurisdiction. The included institutions are Military Lyceums, the Dr. Dámasso Centeno Military Social Institute, and the Center for Training of Aeronauts and Aeronautical Technicians (INAC-CIATA).

According to the Ministry, the measure represents a decisive step in the improvement of the National Defense education system and aims to establish a fairer and more sustainable update scheme over time. The measure seeks to put an end to a long-standing problem that recurred year after year and that, as authorities emphasized, "no previous administration had seriously addressed until now."
During the 16 years of Kirchnerist governments, the National Defense teaching regime "never received a comprehensive response," which caused salaries to remain "tied to a scheme designed for civilian personnel of the Armed Forces and Security Forces, regulated by an obsolete and anachronistic index," in an economic context marked by "constant inflation."
