Chamber of Deputies officially called for this Thursday at 2:00 p.m. the session to move forward with consideration of the Labor Modernization bill promoted by the government of Javier Milei, in the midst of CGT's attempt to halt the debate through a general strike that seeks to paralyze the country.
The call was formalized by the president of the lower house, Martín Menem, who set the date and time of the debate after a request promoted by legislators from different political groups.
The legislative consideration is taking place in a context of strong union resistance, even though the initiative seeks to establish new rules that would reduce informality and create clearer conditions for the creation of genuine employment.

Meanwhile, CGT is promoting a work stoppage in order to prevent the normal functioning of the country, while Congress is moving forward with the institutional debate on a key reform for millions of workers who are currently outside the formal system.
During the joint committee meeting, representatives of the private and business sectors backed the initiative and highlighted its importance for economic and labor development. One of them was Rappi's director of corporate affairs, Gabriel Buenos, who referred specifically to the chapter related to work on digital platforms and expressed his support for the bill.

"We promote this type of discussion because we believe that clear rules of the game allow the development of the platform economy. We strengthen local commerce, employment, and economic development. We believe this bill is positive, that it's going to allow different issues to be standardized. When we talk with delivery workers, they state that this guarantees sovereignty over time and choice", the business representative emphasized, underscoring the importance of having a clear legal framework that would make it possible to consolidate new forms of work.
Along the same lines, the president of the Corrientes Federation of Business Owners, Roberto Báez, spoke out, defending the reform during the legislative debate and stressing its necessity for the functioning of the economy. "It's a necessary tool", he asserted.
The call to the session represents a decisive step in the legislative process and confirms the decision of the ruling party and allied sectors to move forward with approval in the Chamber of Deputies, despite union extortion.
