The obscene expenses of Córdoba's Lieutenant Governor, Myrian Prunotto
Córdoba's Legislature continues to squander money on trips to Europe and conferences against the 'far right'
The vice governor of the province of Córdoba, Myrian Prunotto, a former Radical and now a supporter of Llaryora, is the official in charge of presiding over the provincial legislature and in recent days has sparked controversy over the legislature's exorbitant and absurd expenses.
With a budget of more than 28 billion pesos for 2024, the Córdoba Legislature spent 254 million on "courtesy and tribute" during the aforementioned period. If one breaks down these expenditures, one finds that 15 different purchases of ceremonial flags were made for approximately 90 million pesos, noting that these were all made from the same supplier.

Meanwhile, there were also expenses of 202 million on travel and per diems for the discretionary use of legislators, according to approval by the vice governor.
Among these, there are two payments that stand out: one for $4,155,100 and another for $3,873,016 for "air tickets" to Madrid and a stay from 10/22 to 10/27 in the same city.

What is striking, in addition to the obscene waste on trips abroad, is that this sum was allocated for a legislative advisor named Jorge Marcelo Londero, who stayed exactly those 6 days in a hotel for a conference that ended on October 22, meaning he stayed 5 extra days in Madrid thanks to the taxes of the people of Córdoba.

This type of maneuver is repeated not only with trips and accommodations, but also with payments for "coffee breaks" at political events, where the Provincial Legislature appears as a sponsor and, coincidentally, these are the same events where Vice Governor Prunotto attends and participates with speeches with a strong connotation of permanent campaigning.

This is how payments of $320,000 were made for a coffee break at the "Women's Gathering," or $360,000 at an entrepreneurship event in San Marcos Sierras.

Another notable expense is the trip to Brazil by the left-wing legislator, Luciana Echevarría, to an "International Antifascist Conference: For Real Democracy and Against the Far Right." The legislator's ticket was financed by the provincial Legislature and cost 925,970 pesos.

Furthermore, for 2025 the Legislature approved a budget of 36 billion pesos, where, for example, there is a 212% increase in funds allocated to "Human Rights organizations" such as Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo or Asociación H.I.J.O.S. It should be noted that in 2024 these organizations received non-reimbursable subsidies of about 4 million pesos.

The management of the Córdoba legislature not only fails to respond to what the people of Córdoba voted for in 2023, when 75% supported President Javier Milei, but also deepens the waste of public spending in order to continue a permanent campaign of personal political positioning by Vice Governor Prunotto.

This adds to the rumors already circulating in the halls of the provincial legislative power, where there is talk of a vice governor distanced from Governor Llaryora, who decided to take control of the legislature's funds to carry out her personal campaign, buying local leaders and funding her campaign through financing political events for friends of those in power.
