Springfield's return to the big screen

The first movie, directed by David Silverman, successfully brought the series' satire to a 90-minute cinematic format. Gags like the famous dome over Springfield became instant pop culture icons.

Now, the sequel arrives in a different context. The series is still on the air and has already been renewed through its 40th season (2028-2029), consolidating its record as the longest-running animated series in history, according to Variety.

A movie for new generations

Plot details are not yet known, but fans are speculating about topics such as artificial intelligence and digital culture.

Meanwhile, Disney is preparing spin-off products to strengthen the franchise on Disney+, where Springfield has become one of its strongest brands.

A challenge for the yellow family

The first movie celebrated the series' global popularity in the 2000s. The sequel will test whether the Simpsons family still connects with audiences.
