City Police arrested the second of those identified for assembling and throwing Molotov cocktails during the riots that took place in front of Congress while the Senate was debating the labor reform promoted by the Government. With this new arrest, there are now two suspects who have been captured in less than 48 hours since the incidents.

The first detainee is N. G. B., a 31-year-old Argentine citizen with a criminal record for robbery. He was located while he was sleeping inside an ATM located on Luis María Campos Avenue at 1300, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Belgrano. According to official sources, at the moment he was approached he adopted a violent and uncooperative attitude, so he was subdued and transported.

The identification was possible thanks to the analysis of security cameras, urban domes, and television footage that place him as part of the group that assembled improvised incendiary devices in the middle of the public roadway and then threw them at a police cordon stationed in the vicinity of the Legislative Palace. Since he was not carrying identification, the intervening prosecutor's office authorized the intervention of the Anthropometric Recognition Department, which, through a biometric system, confirmed his identity.

Hours later, City Police reported the arrest of a second suspect: Matías Enzo Roldán, who also has a criminal record for property crimes. The arrest took place on Montevideo at 300, in the San Nicolás neighborhood. Officers who were patrolling the area recognized him by a tattoo on his left arm, which matched the images captured during the riots.

The National Security Ministry had previously stated that those responsible would be identified and brought before the courts. Minister Alejandra Monteoliva had publicly assured that the security forces would move forward against those involved and that the information would be consolidated for a possible federal complaint invoking the terrorism charge, considering that a Molotov cocktail is a weapon with lethal potential.

According to official sources, a total of 17 people were identified as being linked to the disturbances. The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests are expected in the coming hours.

The events took place in the context of a key session for the ruling party, which managed to move forward with the labor reform despite attempts by violent groups to create chaos in the streets. The swift police response and the use of recognition technology constituted a concrete response to those who chose violence as a method of political pressure.
