The defense of Juan Darthés is preparing to make a new move in the legal case that sentenced him to six years in prison in Brazil. According to reports, his lawyers are about to file a request to annul the trial, based on the alleged involvement of an Argentine expert who was recently questioned for his role in a network of false accusations.
Journalist Pablo Layús reported on Intrusos that the attorneys "are going all in" to overturn the sentence handed down by the Federal Regional Court of São Paulo. The actor, whose real name is Juan Pacífico Dabul, was convicted of sexual abuse in March 2024, after an extensive process initiated by the complaint of actress Thelma Fardin.
The expert who triggered the new judicial scandal
During the first days of August, it became known that a group of lawyers in the northern area of Buenos Aires had operated for years with fabricated accusations to provoke million-dollar lawsuits. The scheme included reports from an expert who, according to Layús, may also have intervened in the case involving Fardin.
This connection between the specialist and the case file was key for Darthés's lawyers to contact Fernando Burlando, who represented him in the early stages of the case. The strategy would consist of filing a complaint with the Brazilian justice system, with the aim of challenging the entire judicial process based on the validity of the expert's report.
However, for that argument to carry weight in Brazil, a formal conviction in Argentina against the expert would first be required. Meanwhile, the request for annulment was interpreted as an attempt to overturn one of the most significant sentences against a public figure in the neighboring country.
