They eliminate the minimum amounts to register vehicles in the Virtual Single Registry
The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights modified the registration system to reduce costs for users.
The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights announced the elimination of minimum fee amounts for the registration of motorcycles, automobiles, and machinery in the Virtual Single Registry (RUV), a digital system launched on February 19. This measure will allow for a reduction in the cost of registration for those acquiring brand new vehicles.
The decision was made official through Resolution 89/2025, published in the Official Gazette. The regulation arises after detecting that the amounts required in the RUV were higher than those of the Sectional Registries, creating an imbalance in costs for users.
Differences between the traditional system and the RUV
Before the adjustment, the minimum registration values were:
- Sectional Registries:
- Motorcycles: $8,500
- National cars: $15,800
- Imported cars: $21,300
- Virtual Single Registry (RUV):
- Motor vehicles: $30,000
- Automobiles: $180,000

This discrepancy was corrected by eliminating the minimum amount in the digital system, allowing the RUV fee to be set at 0.8% of the vehicle's value, in contrast to the 1% of the value that is maintained in the Sectional Registries.
Impact on low-displacement motorcycles
The main beneficiaries will be buyers of economical motorcycles, such as the 110 cm³ ones, which cost between $1,500,000 and $2,500,000.
- Before the elimination of the minimum amount, they had to pay $30,000 for registration in the RUV.
- With the new regulation, the cost will be 0.8% of the sale price, reducing to:
- $12,000 for motorcycles costing $1,500,000.
- $20,000 for motorcycles costing $2,500,000.
Additionally, the RUV allows the procedure to be completed directly at the dealership, avoiding the need to go to a Motor Vehicle Registry.

Virtual Single Registry: a phased digitalization
Since its implementation, dealerships interested in operating with the RUV have had to manage their registration with the National Directorate of Motor Vehicle Property Registries (DNRPA). This process includes the submission of documentation and obtaining digital signatures to access the National Motor Vehicle Registry (RUNA).
Currently, the system only allows the registration of motorcycles, while the digital registration of automobiles still has no confirmed date.
With this tool, those who purchase a vehicle at a participating dealership will be able to process their registration on the spot, obtaining immediately:
- License plates or provisional registration
- Digital title of ownership
- Green card in digital format
This digital advancement aims to streamline procedures, reduce costs, and avoid unnecessary intermediations, modernizing the vehicle registration process in Argentina.
